Carroll County is a universal lead testing area, meaning that all children under the age of 6 years should be tested annually for lead. A lead screening test can be done capillary or venous. A venous test is done by collecting blood from the child’s veins by using a needle and blood collection tubes. The samples are then sent off for testing. You will receive a letter with your child’s results and information on any follow up testing, if needed.
Please contact the Carroll County Health Department with any questions about testing.
